DESCRIPTION OF PRODUCTS AND SERVICES PROVIDED TO CUSTOMER

For the Department of the Navy, Enlightened facilitated the day-to-day operations and support of the long-term goals of the Navy Utilities GIS program. Enlightened completed the following GIS tasks:

• GIS IV&V and Engineering Support providing programmatic and technical support for managing, planning and coordinating all aspects of Utilities GIS services
• Utilities GIS Data Modeling Support including developing the following physical and logical data models:
• Electric Data Model
• Gas Data Model
• Wastewater Data Model
• Steam Data Model
• Project Management Support throughout the lifecycle of the initiative

OUTCOME/VALUE/BENEFIT TO CUSTOMER

DoN required high levels of accuracy in the estimation, design, execution, and management of the GIS utility data models; therefore IV&V efforts were necessary to assure quality. The Navy was able to assess the final GIS products to determine conformity with all defined requirements.

Security Support Services/Information Assurance/Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V)

DESCRIPTION OF PRODUCTS AND SERVICES PROVIDED TO CUSTOMER

For the Department of the Navy, Enlightened performed the following:

• Created the System Security Authorization Agreement (SSAA) to achieve accreditation for a new Navy-wide information collection and reporting application over a legacy infrastructure.
• Created documentation relating to incident response, contingency planning, and configuration management to establish a minimum threshold in those areas of security.
• Risk assessments and technical scans were conducted for asset discovery, web and network based vulnerability assessments, and Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance.
• Performed a nation-wide initiative conducting IA site visits of various Naval facilities to assess their security infrastructure for the purpose of outlining areas within the security posture that had room for improvement.

OUTCOME/VALUE/BENEFIT TO CUSTOMER

DoN was able to release and securely distribute a major application to worldwide locations, streamlining utility consumption management (e.g. water, electricity, and gas) and improving financial accountability. The benefits of certifying this application included:

• Improved forecasting, planning and budgeting
• Consolidated, consistent and accurate data for reporting
• Improved timeliness of utility invoice payment
• Lower information technology cost through consolidation of multiple applications.
