ENLIGHTENED AWARDED CONTRACT FOR CASE INITIATION PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION SERVICES WITH THE PRETRIAL SERVICES AGENCY

WASHINGTON (August 3): Enlightened, Inc. ("Enlightened"), a leading provider of Information Technology (IT) consulting services, is pleased to announce that the company was awarded a contract for Case Initiation project implementation services for Pretrial Services Agency (PSA). PSA has tasked Enlightened with the development of an interface between Pretrial Real-time Information System Manager (PRISM) and the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council's (CJCC's) Justice Information Sharing System (JUSTIS). This will benefit PSA by streamlining their Pretrial business processes.

PSA is participating in the CJCC Case Initiation pilot for electronic data exchange between six DC public safety agencies. The case initiation process encompasses the booking of an adult offender through the DC Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), sending the arrest data and documents to the prosecuting agencies and finally, the initial filing of a case with DC Superior Courts (DCSC). As a participant in this pilot, PSA will be able to electronically consume arrest data and documents from MPD and provide the Pretrial Services Report (PSR) to the prosecuting agency and DC Superior Courts (DCSC).

The implementation of the electronic data exchange between PSA and JUSTIS will result in PSA being more efficient in their business practice of interviewing individuals, providing speedy recommendations to MPD, and producing the PSR in a timely manner for dissemination to the prosecutors and judges. PSA will be more cost effective and time efficient.
