ENLIGHTENED AWARDED CONTRACT FOR CASE INITIATION PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION SERVICES WITH THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE COORDINATING COUNCIL

WASHINGTON (May 7): Enlightened, Inc. ("Enlightened"), a leading provider of Information Technology (IT) consulting services, is pleased to announce that the company was awarded a contract for Case Initiation project implementation services with the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC). For this engagement the CJCC has tasked Enlightened with implementing Business Process Management within the Justice Information Sharing (JUSTIS) System infrastructure.

CJCC, DC Superior Courts (DCSC), and the Office of Attorney General (OAG) were awarded a joint grant to set up a pilot for electronic data exchange between six DC public safety agencies. The purpose of the pilot program is to process adult criminal case initiation information through the new CJCC technical infrastructure. The case initiation process encompasses the booking of an adult offender through the DC Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), sending of the arrest data and documents to the prosecuting agencies and finally, the initial filing of a case with DCSC.

The case initiation project implementation will eliminate the need for police officers to physically deliver case dockets to both the prosecuting agencies and DCSC by electronically exchanging all the information amongst the public safety agencies automatically. This result of the case initiation effort will increase the efficiency of processing cases and streamline the data amongst the public safety agencies.

"CJCC is pioneering Business Process Management within the DC public safety arena. Enlightened is proud to be CJCC's partner in this venture. Enlightened is at the forefront of providing innovative solutions to public safety agencies and we look forward to making a positive impact within the DC public safety community," said Tushar Garg, Enlightened Project Manager.
