PIONEERS IN EDUCATION ALLIANCE RECOGNIZES ENLIGHTENED

WASHINGTON (JUNE 17): The Pioneers In Education Alliance present a Certificate of Appreciation to Mr. Antwanye Ford, Enlightened President and CEO, for Enlightened's outstanding support of the Pioneers In Education initiative.

The Pioneers in Education Alliance is dedicated to the development of a diverse, technologically literate 21st century workforce. The Alliance was formed to promote literacy in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, increase diversity participation in these fields, and promote awareness of and interest in nontraditional applications and career paths for the sciences.

With this as their goal, the Alliance focuses on helping K-12 students, educators, and parents create, support, and sustain programs that advance technology education. Further, the Alliance promotes the importance of nontraditional and creative applications for science, math, and technology in the academic and workplace environments. Alliance partners include DuPont, NASA-SEMAA, The National Museum of the United States Army (NMUSA), and SECME, Inc.

Enlightened, Inc conducted a seminar on entrepreneurship to Pioneer In Leadership Academy interns at the University of Houston. Enlightened's seminar is part of a series aimed at educating students and promoting interest in science and technology.

About the Pioneer Student Leadership Academy
The Pioneer Student Leadership Academy, an outgrowth of the Pioneers in Education Alliance, runs concurrently each summer with the SECME Summer Institute, a nationally acclaimed resident program for educators. Academy participants get hands-on experience in managing all aspects of a conference; attend educational workshops; and are taught and mentored by skilled professionals as they produce a daily conference newsletter, conference videos, and other communications vehicles.
