ENLIGHTENED’S SYSTEM DEVELOPED FOR DC CRIMINAL JUSTICE COORDINATING COUNCIL WINS EXCELLENCE.GOV AWARD

WASHINGTON (March 13): Enlightened, Inc., a leading Information Technology (IT) consulting firm delivering delivering Cyber Security, System Integration, and Management Consulting solutions, announced today tannounced today that the system they developed for the DC Criminal Justice Coordinating Council’s (CJCC) Case Initiation Project (CIP) was awarded the Excellence in Intergovernmental Collaboration award at the ACT-IAC Excellence.gov award luncheon.

This year there were over 125 programs nominated in six different categories and evaluated by 30 judges from both government and industry for the various excellence.gov awards. This was a competitive year and an honor for anyone to be nominated this year through American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC). The six category winners will be invited to display their programs at the 2012 Management of Change Conference to be held in Cambridge, Maryland, June 3-5, 2012. This is the second time Enlightened’s work has been recognized with an Excellence.gov Award.

The Excellence.gov Awards were started in 2001 by the ACT-IAC to acknowledge and recognize government programs that use information technology (IT) to advance the business of government in an effective, efficient and innovative manner. Any government program that is operational and uses IT may submit a nomination.

The Excellence in Intergovernmental Collaboration category is defined by ACT-IAC as, “programs that are designed and/or operated with close cooperation and coordination between different levels of government.” The CJCC’s CIP provides collaboration between federal, state and local governments. The CIP supports CJCC’s goal to “improve data-driven services by increasing effective interagency collaboration and planning and improve criminal justice system operations requiring interagency cooperation and information sharing.” The other nominees in this category included: GeoCONOPS DHS, LOGIS, The National Broadband Map, and Defense Connect Online (DCO).
